Registrar travel to mandatory out of practice education

From the commencement of 2024.2, registrars training in MMM2-7 locations may be eligible to claim travel expenses to mandatory out of practice education. The updated guidance document can be found here.  Eligible registrars will be required to complete and submit the AGPT Registrar Travel Reimbursement Claim Form. 

Registrars working in MMM1 locations who must travel significant distances to attend mandatory out of practice education will be contacted by their local training team if they’re eligible for accommodation and/or claim for travel expenses in 2024.2. 

General practice research findings from academic post registrars

The 2023 academic post registrar cohort conducted research in a wide range of general practice fields, including women’s health, contraception, chronic disease and inclusive healthcare. We’re proud to present their abstracts in a special Australian Journal of General Practice (AJGP) supplement.   

The Academic Post Program allows registrars to build a foundation in general practice research and explore an academic career. During the program, participants partner with a university to teach medical students and complete a research project in an area of interest.
