Complete your Medicare provider number paperwork by 29 November

An important reminder to please confirm your placement and return the Medicare provider number (MPN) paperwork by Friday 29 November. This allows time for the RACGP to work with Services Australia to ensure your MPN for 2025.1 is allocated before the start of the semester. Late MPN applications may cause delays to your placement, as you cannot begin working at a training site until your MPN is allocated.  

You must still submit an MPN application form if you're staying at the same training site in 2025.1.

Exam preparation for registrars planning to sit the AKT/KFP in January

The Applied Knowledge Test (AKT) and Key Feature Problem (KFP) information video is now available via gplearning. Hosted by Dr Sharnti Caulley, AKT National Assessment Advisor, Dr Emilie Pitter, KFP National Assessment Advisor and Dr Elise Perger, National Lead Medical Educator Exam Preparation, the video covers: 

• the format of the AKT and KFP 
• how to best use the resources available  
• study tips  
• how to prepare for and approach the exam.

New Self-Assessment Progress Test is available via gplearning

The November Self-Assessment Progress Test (SAPT) is now available to support your exam preparation for the 2025.1 AKT and KFP. SAPTs include questions and cases from previous RACGP exam papers, helping you identify learning needs, self-assess your clinical reasoning and develop written exam skills. They provide immediate and specific feedback on how you perform in RACGP Fellowship exams.   

Once the test is complete you can access the answers and rationale, as well as resources for that topic, curriculum links and suggestions for further study. 

Share your feedback on the placement process

In the week commencing Monday, 25 November, you'll receive your unique link to the placement process survey for this semester. Some registrars will receive this with their link to the end of semester survey. We really value your feedback, and encourage you to complete the survey so we can improve the process for all involved.
