- use real clinic cases to explore the clinical competencies for the CCE
- ask registrars to explain their clinical reasoning, differential diagnosis, and decision-making processes out loud during teaching
- encourage documenting clinical reasoning in the notes and consider random case analysis (RCA) incorporate common CCE themes like preventive care, multi-morbidity, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, and ethical dilemmas
- encourage registrars to formulate problem representation practice based on patients they see
