Your GP training team

We’ve made a number of key appointments to national and regional GP training teams, many of whom are highly respected general practice training employees from around the country. More

Placements

To ensure that placement processes are equitable and efficient, we’ll be jointly managing, supporting and coordinating 2024 placements in collaboration with ACRRM.
 
The new regional appointments in your state or territory will help inform our placement process for subsequent placements in 2023. The workforce prioritisation planning organisations will also inform these processes for 2024. We’ll release a nationally consistent timeline for the 2024 placement process early next year.

Training management system

We’re adopting the training management system GPRime2 to record training information.

It will be customised to RACGP requirements and we’ll provide resources and local support to help you to learn the system.

Payments

Practice and supervisor teaching payments will be processed through the Services Australia payment system. Practice payments will be paid quarterly, in advance, and teaching payments paid monthly, in arrears. To receive the nationally consistent payments, you will need to be registered as an organisation in PRODA, as soon as possible.

AGPT practice and supervisor handbook

We have published our first AGPT Practice and Supervisor Handbook. This resource contains all the information practices and supervisors need to train and host registrars, including information about the AGPT program, training responsibilities, and links to key policies and relevant external organisations.

External clinical teaching visits (ECTV)

Thousands of ECTVs are completed every year and this requirement will continue nationally  throughout 2023. We are collaborating with RTOs on implementing local processes into a nationally consistent framework. Read more
