Placements

Whilst your RTO will be organising your 2023 placements, the RACGP Placements Working Group, is designing a placement framework for 2023 and beyond, taking into consideration current RTO processes and systems.

Out-of-practice education requirements

Registrars will participate in at least 125 hours of out-of-practice education, including workshops, self-directed learning, peer learning and exam preparation.

In conjunction with RTO Medical Educators, we have developed a core out-of-practice education program for GPT1, GPT2 and GPT3 registrars. Dates and locations for all 2023 activities will be provided in December.

Practice and teaching payments

Nationally consistent payments for AGPT-accredited training practices and supervisors will be administered by Services Australia from 1 February 2023. This is the first time supervisors will be paid in a nationally consistent way...

In order to receive payments from the Nationally Consistent Payments allocation, you will need to register your organisation for a PRODA account. We encourage you to register your organisation as soon as possible.

Training Program Policies

Practice manager contacts from 1 February 2023

As outlined in the RACGP 2023 operating model, you will be supported by a local Training Coordinator and Medical Educator, a regional Accreditation team and Practice Manager Liaison Officer (PMLO). Guidance from these key contacts will be tailored to ensure that you have the right information and resources to support your registrar, practice, and supervisory team throughout each placement. Recruitment for these positions is underway and contact details will be available soon.
