How can we improve the AGPT Program? Share your feedback in these evaluation surveys

We’re asking registrars to complete three short surveys evaluating different elements of the training program.  

1. End of semester evaluation (survey link shared via Qualtrics): Captures your experience of training this semester and informs the continuous improvement of the AGPT Program. Responses are aggregated and de-identified.   

2. Assessment of placement (survey completed via the TMS): Provides specific feedback to your supervisor and practice. In this survey, you can share your experience of in-practice teaching, ReCEnT, workplace-based assessment, RACGP systems and other key elements of the training program.  

3. National Registrar Survey (survey link shared via email): Collects information about registrar satisfaction, experience and future career plans. The survey findings are used by the Department of Health and College to assure the training program quality, enable continuous improvements and allow responses to be benchmarked nationally.    
   
   Survey results will be used to identify program improvement opportunities to better support you.  

Registrar training activities for 2024.2

We've developed a summary of registrar training activities, timelines and helpful links for the upcoming semester. Specific requirements for each GP training cohort are outlined using a colour-coordinated key for easy reference. 

Reminder – changes to workplace based assessments for 2024.2

From 2024.2, GPT1, GPT2, and now GPT3 registrars will complete:  

• two supervisor-run mini-CEX   
• ​two supervisor-run RCAs.   

These will be completed by supervisors directly in the training management system (TMS), like term assessments are. The assessments will appear as required in 2024.2. Please get in touch with your training coordinator if you have any questions.  

Australian Medical Council (AMC) feedback meetings – invitation coming soon

• Experience with the training program, workplace-based assessment and communication with the College. 

• The strengths and areas of improvement of the College’s training program.  

• The clear definition of and support provided for trainees to gain knowledge, skills and professional attributes expected on graduation from the training program.

Apply now for a pre-placement training site visit (NT and NENW)

We're excited to launch a pilot program for pre-placement visits, which will roll out initially in the Northern Territory (NT) and New England North West (NENW) regions. Registrars looking at incentivised placements in these regions for 2025.1 can apply to visit the training sites before placements open, giving them a chance to meet practice teams, get a feel for the community and explore surrounding areas. Participate in a research study about electronic point-of-care resources

The University of Queensland is conducting research to understand what GP registrars think about looking up and using electronic information during consultations. They're looking for registrars from varied backgrounds, locations and stages of training to participate in one-on-one interviews with the lead researcher.

The interviews will last around 50-60 minutes and can be scheduled at a time convenient to you. Registrars will receive a $150 gift voucher for participating and can withdraw from the study at any time.
