Ahead of the 1 November changes to bulk-billing incentives, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is hosting info sessions for GPs and practices.

This week’s In Practice also includes two full-day CPD skin cancer workshops coming up for Queensland GPs, and mental health care referrals and trauma-informed care resources via the General Practice Mental Health Standards Collaboration.

Upcoming bulk-billing incentives program
The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is hosting a series of webinars for GPs and general practices on upcoming changes to bulk billing, including the expansion of bulk-billing incentives to all Medicare-eligible Australians and the Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program.

  • provide additional funding to GPs and practices that bulk bill their patients
  • establish the Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program which will provide an additional 12.5% incentive payment when GPs and their practice bulk bill all eligible patients for all eligible services.
The webinar will explain how to join the program and provide time for a Q&A.
