In Practice: EOIs to join MBS advisory committee

Expression of interest: MRAC applications
The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is now seeking expressions of interest for membership on the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) Review Advisory Committee (MRAC). Applications close Monday 4 August.
MRAC was established to support the MBS Continuous Review, a program assurance function that undertakes reviews to ensure the MBS continues to support high-quality care and remains flexible and contemporary.

Last chance to nominate in the 2025 RACGP Awards
Nominations for the RACGP Awards close 9.00 am (AEST) Monday, 30 June.
Celebrating those going above and beyond in general practice, these awards are an opportunity to recognise the GPs, practice teams, medical educators, supervisors, registrars and medical students doing outstanding work in their field, including those specialising in rural medicine and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
National award winners will be honoured at the 2025 RACGP Awards ceremony during GP25 in November. Nominate online.
Adolescent and maternal vaccinations

Senior Medical Advisor at the WA Department of Health and infectious disease expert Professor Paul Effler will present WA data on coverage and safety for adolescent and maternal immunisations, including the Abrysvo RSV vaccine. He will also provide a ‘mid-winter report card’ on how WA is tracking with respect to important respiratory pathogens including influenza, RSV and COVID-19.
The event will be hosted by RACGP WA Chair Dr Ramya Raman and includes a Q&A session – questions can be submitted prior during registration. This webinar is delivered in partnership with the WA Department of Health.
Skin cancer seminars

Skin cancer seminar – Part 1
Date: Saturday 30 August, 8.00 am – 4.30 pm (AEST)
Venue: RACGP Office, Brisbane
CPD: 7 EA hours|3 RP hours
Part 1 will provide GPs with an introduction in training and guidance on the diagnosis and treatment of the various types of skin cancer, as well as discussing the correlation of the dermatoscopic features of skin lesions and the corresponding histological findings.
Skin cancer seminar – Part 2
Date: Sunday 31 August, 8.00 am – 4.30 pm (AEST)
Venue: RACGP Office, Brisbane
CPD: 5 EA hours|5 RP hours
After completing Part 1, Part 2 will provide further training and guidance to GPs on the use of dermatoscopy for the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. It will also present correlations of the dermatoscopic features of skin lesions and the corresponding histological findings.

Endometriosis: A clinical update

GP Research Noticeboard
The GP Research Noticeboard presents surveys and research projects that GPs can participate in.
