The RACGP is reminding members to visit the GP Research Noticeboard to submit research and support current GP-led projects.
The RACGP’s GP Research Noticeboard is a dedicated space to promote GP-led research projects.
This week’s In Practice also includes early registration for the Technology in Healthcare Congress, an opportunity to take part in new research on asbestos-related disease, and changes to how GPs can assess eligibility for DVA-funded healthcare.
GP research collaboration hub
The RACGP’s GP Research Noticeboard offers a dedicated space to promote GP-led research projects and support recruitment across general practice. The noticeboard attracts around 100 unique visits each month, providing valuable visibility among RACGP members.
College members are encouraged to submit their research projects to the GP Research Noticeboard, as well as regularly visit the noticeboard and consider supporting GP-led research projects that are currently recruiting.

Technology in Healthcare Congress
Pathology Technology Australia’s 2026
Technology in Healthcare Congress will be held in Sydney on 27–28 May, bringing together a multidisciplinary delegation of health system leaders, federal and state officials, researchers, innovators, and patient representatives.
The event will provide a platform to share perspectives and shape national dialogue on prevention, value-based care, diverse diagnostic solutions, and emerging technology.
RACGP President Dr Michael Wright will be part of a panel discussion on 27 May, focusing on supporting diverse populations.
For the month of February, RACGP members can take advantage of
early bird registration. Venue capacity is restricted to 200 delegates, so early registration is recommended.
Asbestos-related disease research
The National Centre for Asbestos Related Diseases (NCARD) is launching a national survey, ‘Asbestos Voices: Defining Research Needs’, to help ensure future research strategy and funding applications reflect priorities identified by the asbestos-affected community.
This survey aims to identify the medical research questions that matter most to people affected by asbestos exposure and asbestos-related diseases, including patients, carers, healthcare professionals and advocates.
The survey takes approximately 10–15 minutes and all responses are anonymous. Find out more information and
complete the survey online.
Department of Veterans’ Affairs
The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) has streamlined how health providers can assess eligibility for DVA-funded healthcare, reducing the need to contact the DVA.
Guidance for GPs for assessing eligibility is available on the
DVA website.
