In Practice: International Women’s Day event
The RACGP is inviting members to celebrate women in general practice and engage in ways to advance gender equality.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme focuses on advancing gender equality.
This week’s In Practice also includes a Movember men’s health event, the 2026 Digital Health Conference, and calls for members to join the new RACGP Expert Committee on GP Workforce.
International Women’s Day online member meet-up

To celebrate International Women’s Day, RACGP Rural is hosting an online member meet-up and is inviting members to come together to celebrate women in general practice and engage in meaningful discussion on driving change and achieving gender equality.
This year’s theme is ‘Balance the Scales’, aimed at working towards achieving fair, inclusive, and accessible justice for all females.
Dr Sonia Henry, a GP and author who has worked in some of the remotest parts of Australia and is passionate about GP welfare and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, will be a special guest at the event.
Movember men’s health event
Date: Monday 2 March, 7.00–8.00 pm (ACST)
Location: RACGP NT office, Darwin, Larrakia Country
CPD: 1 hour EA
Dr Nige Gray, Dr Bernie Westley and the team at Movember will host an informative evening celebrating men’s health and exploring how men’s mental health can be better supported.
A panel of local GPs and men’s health experts will share their perspectives and introduce the Movember ‘Men in Mind’ resources.
The RACGP is inviting members to join at the RACGP NT office from 6.30 pm for light refreshments. The event will also be hosted virtually for those unable to attend in person.

Digital Health Festival
The Digital Health Festival 2026 takes place 20–21 May, with the RACGP an Industry Partner.
This year’s speakers include President Dr Michael Wright, Co-Deputy Chair of RACGP Specific Interests Digital Health and Innovation Dr Darran Foo, and Chair of the RACGP Expert Committee – Practice Technology Dr Rob Hosking.
Attendees can access GP-focused digital health content and connect with peers. Members can also apply for a complimentary Public Health VIP ticket valued at $1000.
New GP Workforce Expert Committee
The college is calling for member Expressions of Interests (EOIs) to join the newly developed RACGP Expert Committee – GP Workforce, aimed at addressing general practice workforce challenges across Australia.
Members on the new Committee can help to monitor trends, risks and reforms to build a sustainable GP workforce. The RACGP is seeking an inaugural Chair, Deputy Chair and Committee members, and applications from:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander GPs
- rural and remote GPs
- international medical graduates
- those with relevant workforce experience.
The deadline for EOIs is 13 March. More details on the selection criteria are available on the
