In Practice: Medical registration renewal
With registrations open from next week until 30 September, Australia’s health regulator is recommending GPs register early.
Renewing medical registration early allows more timely support from AHPRA’s Customer Support Team, the regulator says.
This week’s In Practice also includes upcoming webinars from AHPRA, support for New Fellows, and CPD opportunities to upskill in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
Medical registration renewal
Registration renewal for medical practitioners opens next week. Practitioners must log in to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) portal using multifactor authentication (MFA) to renew by 30 September. Renewing early allows time for quicker support, particularly with logging in or MFA, from AHPRA’s Customer Support Team.
Those who have changed phones or deleted the MFA app and are unable to get access can use the web enquiry form and choose ‘Reset my MFA’ from the menu. Once the MFA is reset, the app can be set up using these instructions.
GPs holding dual registration or endorsements should ensure they renew all of them. Check everything has been completed correctly by searching the Register of practitioners.
A webinar on the renewal process will be held on 7 August from 2.15 – 3.15 pm (AEST), with the recording sent to all registrants.
