The RACGP is calling on GPs to have their say on what matters most to them as a member, to help inform future work of the college.

Participants in the Member Engagement Survey go in the draw to win full registration to GP26 or RACGP membership fees for one year.

This week’s In Practice also includes updates to the RACGP Billing Calculator to align with incoming 1 November MBS changes, and a reminder that voting for the RACGP’s Annual General Meeting opens soon.

Have your say in the Member Engagement Survey
The 2025 RACGP Member Engagement Survey opens this week and is a chance for members to tell the college what matters most. The RACGP is calling for feedback from a wide range of GPs, from those navigating the early stages of general practice to those well established in a GP career.

A personalised survey link has been sent to members via email. It takes 15–20 minutes to complete, and participants will go in the draw to win full registration to GP26 or their RACGP membership fees for one year.

Updated RACGP Billing Calculator
In line with the upcoming MBS changes taking effect on 1 November, the RACGP has updated its Billing Calculator with the latest item numbers and rebates. The updated tool will be available for use from 1 November. Members need to log in to the website to access this resource.

The update includes additions to include the triple bulk-billing incentives and rural loading. These enhancements ensure the calculator remains a relevant and practical resource for GPs navigating the evolving funding landscape.

The Billing Calculator is designed to support GPs in achieving their financial goals by providing a clear, interactive demonstration of the fee-for-service model. It helps GPs and practice teams understand how different billing decisions – such as bulk billing versus mixed/private billing – can influence overall revenue, profitability, and long-term practice sustainability.

Additionally, this resource can be a valuable tool during GP recruitment discussions, helping to clearly illustrate potential earnings across different billing models. By providing transparent projections, it supports open, informed conversations about remuneration, workload expectations, and the overall financial viability of joining the practice.

As well as a suite of bulk-billing resources, the RACGP has also updated its MBS Online Tool with the latest item numbers and rebates. Members need to log into the website to access this resource.

RACGP Annual General Meeting
A reminder that the RACGP’s 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Thursday 13 November at 5.00 pm (AEST) at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre as part of the GP25 conference, and livestreamed via Zoom.

Eligible members will have the opportunity to vote on key resolutions, including two Ordinary Resolutions, requiring a ‘yes’ vote of more than 50% for Director and President remuneration, and eight Special Resolutions, requiring a ‘yes’ vote of more than 75% for future governance changes.

AGM voting opens Monday 3 November. Register to attend, submit a question for the Board of Directors, or view the Notice of AGM in full via the RACGP website.
