After six years of strong advocacy from the RACGP and Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM), rural generalism will be formally recognised as a specialist medical field within general practice. In this upcoming webinar, RACGP Rural Chair Associate Professor Michael Clements, National Clinical Head of Rural Pathways Dr Karin Jodlowski-Tan, and RACGP Rural Censor Dr Ken Wanguhu will discuss the recent announcements on rural generalism recognition and what this means for members.
 
Electronic National Residential Medication Chart: Update
The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (DoHDA) has published an information factsheet for prescribers regarding the upcoming transition of Electronic National Residential Medication Chart (eNRMC) systems to electronic prescribing capability in residential aged care.
 
This document outlines key updates and changes, including the availability of conformant eNRMC systems by October 2025, which will support electronic prescribing and introduce enhanced safety features. The factsheet is available on the DoHDA website, as part of the eNRMC collection.
 
Department of Veterans’ Affairs news
