In Practice: New regulation and compliance update

The RACGP is launching a quarterly newsletter to keep members informed on the latest regulation and compliance news.

RACGP members can sign up to a newsletter launching next month, which will include the latest developments in regulation and compliance.

This week’s In Practice also includes opportunities to join a mental health care network, and upskilling in HIV prevention and addiction medicine.
 
RACGP Regulation and Compliance newsletter 
Launching in September, the RACGP’s quarterly newsletter aims to keep members up to date on important regulation and compliance news. 
 
Informed by updates from the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing and other key stakeholders, the newsletter will include the latest developments relevant to GPs and practices.

Clinicians in mental and physical health network

The Mental Health Professionals Network (MHPN) and Equally Well are hosting the first session of ‘Equally Well Community of Practice – Clinicians in mental and physical health network’.
 
The session will begin with an overview of the network’s purpose, with a focus on establishing terms of reference for the group. Three Equally Well practitioners will share their insights and experiences in implementing the framework within their workplaces. 
 
The session will also include planning to organise subsequent meetings and discuss what members would like to hear about in the future. More information and to register are available on the MHPN website.
 
PrEP reality check: Busting myths and addressing GP concerns

Presented by RACGP Specific Interests and ASHM, this interactive webinar will feature a panel of GPs examining the ongoing potential of PrEP in HIV prevention in Australia. Attendees will learn about the role of primary care in the latest epidemiological trends in HIV, current patient demographics and effectiveness of PrEP in reducing HIV transmission.
