In Practice: Registration open for GP25
The RACGP’s annual general practice conference promises an engaging three-day program, with the high-profile keynote speakers confirmed.

Brighter future together: Register now for GP25
Early bird registrations are now open for GP25, with the RACGP revealing three of this year’s conference keynote speakers: Leigh Sales, Professor Michael Kidd and Lorraine Finlay.
Members are invited to attend the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, on Turrbal and Jagera Country, from 14–16 November, or arrive a day early to take part in one of the pre-conference workshops. Secure your early bird registration now, and stay tuned for the full GP25 program.
Upcoming changes to women’s health assessment and CDM items

Following the RACGP’s 5 June member webinar on upcoming changes to CDM items, this session will provide essential updates, specifically, the new women’s health assessment items and updates to CDM items, effective from 1 July.
This session will give attendees a clear understanding of how these changes will impact practices, including how to implement the new assessment items and adjust to the modifications in CDM items. The detailed presentation from the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, facilitated by RACGP President Dr Michael Wright, aims to clarify any uncertainties so members are well-prepared to incorporate these changes into clinical workflows.
RACGP Awards nominations close 30 June
Members who have a colleague or peer who goes above and beyond as a GP, medical educator, supervisor, registrar, practice team member, or medical student are encouraged to nominate for the 2025 RACGP Awards. The annual awards are a chance to celebrate individuals and teams, and recognise their outstanding contributions to general practice.
Nominations can be submitted online before 9.00 am (AEST), Monday 30 June.
Practical pain neuroscience for GPs: Neuropathic pain – more than just faulty wiring

Presented by Dr Adele Stewart, Chair of RACGP Specific Interests Pain Management, this webinar is the fourth and final in the series, and ideal for GPs seeking to deepen their understanding of pain, enhance their communication with patients, and improve the quality of care for individuals experiencing chronic pain.
This session will dive into the complexity of neuropathic pain, focusing on sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, and strategies to prevent complex regional pain syndrome. It will explore how nerves adapt and amplify pain, and practical strategies beyond medication that can empower patients to take an active role in their healing.

Hosted by RACGP WA Chair Dr Ramya Raman, Senior Medical Advisor at the Western Australian Department of Health and infectious disease expert Professor Paul Effler will present WA data on coverage and safety for adolescent and maternal immunisations, including the Abrysvo RSV vaccine. He will also provide a ‘mid-winter report card’ on how WA is tracking with respect to important respiratory pathogens including influenza, RSV and COVID-19.
There will be a Q&A session, and questions can be submitted prior during registration. This webinar is delivered in partnership with the Department of Health WA.
