Dr Harry Nespolon, a Sydney-based GP and practice owner, has been named as the RACGP President-elect.

‘It is a great honour to be elected,’ Dr Nespolon told newsGP.  ‘However, the work really does start now.

‘General practice is the cornerstone of the Australian medical system and needs investment and support.’

RACGP President Dr Bastian Seidel took the opportunity to commend Dr Nespolon.

‘I would like to congratulate Dr Nespolon, whom I believe will continue to help shape the future landscape of general practice in Australia,’ Dr Seidel told newsGP. ‘He will increasingly represent the RACGP nationally over the coming weeks and months, before officially taking over the Presidency at GP18 in October.’

‘The role of RACGP President is one of the greatest honours I have experienced in my career in general practice.

‘The opportunity to advocate on behalf of Australia’s GPs, who represent the beating heart of the country’s healthcare system, is a tremendous privilege and I am sure Dr Nespolon will play a vital role in continuing the great work of the RACGP.’

Dr Nespolon has been a member of RACGP SA&NT and RACGP NSW&ACT, and has been involved in facilitation of the Fellowship of the RACGP (FRACGP) exams. He is currently the RACGP representative on Medicines Australia’s Code of Conduct Committee.

Dr Nespolon foresees his new role as RACGP President as a fulfilling one.

‘I hope to successfully lead the RACGP through development and change,’ he said.

Dr Nespolon will officially assume the role of RACGP President at the RACGP’s Annual General Meeting at its conference for general practice, GP18, in October.

Terminate PLAN, it’s a SHAM!

Dr. Hoong F. Tham   9/07/2018 4:55:50 PM

Congratulations Dr. Nespolon and Best Wishes.
Please get rid of the PLAN. Though I have almost completed doing my PLAN, it has been a hindrance to my Continuing Education. As instead of doing what I feel I need to do, I have to do what I am told I must do in the PLAN; which in some respects are quite ridiculous.
