RACGP updates its Constitution

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) represents a chance for RACGP Fellows, Members and Registrar Associates to raise matters of importance with other members, and to alert the Board to the issues GPs consider significant.
 
The 61st RACGP AGM was held during the college’s annual conference on Thursday 11 October.
 
All resolutions (ordinary and special) were carried during the AGM.
 
Three Special Resolutions for constitutional change were presented to members. Members voted in favour of all Special Resolutions:

• Item 6 RACGP Specific Interests establishment – Special Resolution 1
• Item 7 Director remuneration – Special Resolution 2
• Item 11 Nomenclature changes – Special Resolution 3

The RACGP has therefore amended the Constitution accordingly:

• Item 6 – clause 59 (a) (vii) is amended as per clause presented in Special Resolution 1
• Item 7 – the current clause 104 is replaced with the clause presented in Special Resolution 2
• Item 11 – relevant names have been updated through the Constitution. Council is now called Board, and Councillors are now called Directors

It is important to note that those groups currently called ‘Board’ in the Constitution (eg ‘Faculty Board’ or ‘committee or advisory boards’) are now called Council (‘Faculty Council’, or ‘committee or advisory councils’).
 
The RACGP invites members to consult the updated Constitution, available on its website, and to contact the college if they have any further questions.
