We are seeking suitable applicants to join the team as Emergency Registrars at the Royal Hobart Hospital in the 2026 clinical year. As one of our Registrars you will provide emergency care to patients attending the Emergency Department at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

Commencement dates include:

Term 1 – Feb 2nd 2026

Term 2 – May 4th 2026

Term 3 – August 3rd 2026

Term 4 – November 2nd 2026

Employment duration negotiableo Up to three-year length of training contracts may be offered to successful applicants

Full time hours or part time hours available

Positions are available for both junior and more senior registrars

Working up to 76 hours per fortnight plus 10 hours protected training time (pro rata)

ACEM Trainee and Non-Trainee applicants are encouraged to apply.

Period of Employment

Fixed term, full time & part time day work, working up to 76 hours per fortnight plus 10 hours protected training time (pro rata) commencing 2 February 2026 until 1 February 2027 - (Please note up to 36-month length of training contracts negotiable)Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time and casual vacancies.

Salary

$134,930 - $189,005 per annum (pro rata) base salary, plus superannuation

Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022

Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award
