Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service is an ACCHO providing primary health care to the Western Desert from our hub in Newman in the Pilbara. We provide services in Newman town and also outreach services to our four other clinics at Jigalong, Parnngurr, Punmu and Kunawarritji. We have a number of options available to interested GPs, including a fulltime residential role, parttime including FIFO or casual. Accommodation, car and travel expenses are generally included.
We are looking for enthusiastic GPs with experience in Aboriginal health or at the very least a can do attitude and willingness to learn more about Aboriginal health. Experience in the management of complex chronic disease patients, paediatrics, sexual health and women's health / obstetrics would be highly regarded. We are accredited to have registrars from either RACGP or ACRRM (remote supervision) and would also be keen to take on a GP who was willing to teach registrars.
Our usual employment model is salaried, however contractor arrangements are also possible. We are FBT exempt for salary sacrifice. We are MMM7 so you are able to earn the highest WIPS payments right from year 1. We are offering salaries in the vicinity of $300k all inclusive pro rata (for 1 FTE equivalent, casual uplift applies to casual positions).
Although the main gap in service is in the township of Newman, which is suitable for GPs with metropolitan, rural or remote experience, we can also be flexible to allow a practitioner to work in our remote clinics as well if that is their preference and skill set.
