Medical Director (Hybrid – Predominantly Remote) Must be based in Sydney.
Are you an experienced Vocationally Registered GP ready to step into a strategic leadership role while maintaining flexibility?
As Medical Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centred care across our service. You will work with the Board, CEO, and clinical team to uphold standards, support practitioners, and strengthen governance systems.
This role allows you to continue in your current positions. With the backing of an experienced CEO and Practice Manager, you’ll have the flexibility and support to focus on high-level clinical leadership without day-to-day administrative burden.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Governance
Provide clinical advice to the Board of Directors
Govern all clinical aspects of the service
Manage clinical complaints and complex cases requiring Medical Director intervention
Practitioner Support & Development
Participate in initial interviews for prospective practitioners
Supervise and support new locum GPs during their first supervised shift
Provide clinical advice to practitioners
Operational Support
Rare on-call availability for urgent clinical queries (e.g., pathology results or complex cases)
Essential Criteria
Vocationally Registered General Practitioner
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Australian general practice
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Desirable
Experience in the after-hours sector
Registered Supervisor with the RACGP
Reporting Structure
Reports to the Board of Directors for all clinical matters
Reports to the Chief Executive Officer for non-clinical matters
