Rural Generalist locum opportunities are available on Norfolk Island throughout 2026, offering the chance to step into a role that is both professionally rewarding and personally memorable.
This is a rare opportunity to provide meaningful care in a close-knit island community while enjoying one of Australia’s most unique and scenic destinations. Norfolk Island, located around 1,600 km north-east of Sydney, is known for its striking coastline, peaceful beaches, rich history and relaxed pace of life.
You will join Norfolk Island Health & Residential Aged Care Service, a multi-purpose health service delivering quality, person-centred care to residents and visitors. The role includes GP clinic care and on-call services, working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team including nursing, mental health, community and allied health staff.
The clinic generally runs Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with on-call shared on a 1:4 basis.The role offers $1,500 per day including on-call, with flights, accommodation and car provided.
Available dates include 2 May 2026 to 28 May 2026, 29 May 2026 to 19 June 2026, 5 June 2026 to 19 July 2026, plus availability throughout August, September, October, November and December 2026.
