About us:
Emerald
Hospital is located 300kms west of the Queensland coastline.. There
are three multipurpose health services hospitals within 100kms, located at
Blackwater: Springsure and a discreet indigenous community at Woorabinda.
Emerald Hospital is a 36-bed facility, has two operating theatres and
approximately 160 staff delivering services across acute, community and primary
care.
About the
role:
The SMO (Palliative Care) will provide:
- Inpatient community and consultative specialist Palliative Care Services for Emerald Hospital and the surrounds
- Professional leadership to staff across the Central
Highlands and to be an active contributor to the multidisciplinary care
team
- Assist the organisation, management and provision
of specialist clinical services in Palliative Care for CQ Health
- Provide an advisory resource in palliative care to
other rural doctors
- Maximise the effectiveness of specialist outreach
and telemedicine services in Emerald and the Central Highlands
communities
About you:
- MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with
the Medical Board of Australia
- Registration or eligibility for registration as a
Specialist in General Practice with the Australian Health Practitioner
Agency (AHPRA). This will require Fellowship of the Royal Australian
College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Australia College of Rural
and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) with extensive experience in palliative
medicine
- While not mandatory, it will be highly regarded to have Clinical
Diploma in Palliative Medicine.
Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program
with the appropriate bodies is mandatory

remuneration value of up to $183,615 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary between $72,842 - $100,611 p.a. (L13-L25)
- A salary between $72,842 - $75,120 p.a. (L13-L14)
- 12.75%
