Deliver equitable, efficient, and high-quality medical care to a complex population of approximately 1,200 male prisoners across the Capricornia Correctional Centre and Correctional Farm.

The Capricornia Offender Health Service (COHS) provides primary healthcare to around 1,200 male prisoners, delivering urgent, chronic, and preventative care equivalent to community standards. Supported by a multidisciplinary team, COHS addresses complex health needs, including mental health and substance use, with a focus on improving long-term outcomes and reducing health inequalities.

The Senior Medical Officer position works collaboratively with other medical officers and multidisciplinary teams to provide effective, efficient, and equitable medical services to prisoner clients of the Capricornia Offender Health Service (COHS).  

About you: 

  • MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the AHPRA.
  • Registration or eligibility for FRACGP or FACRRM is highly desirable. 
  • Advanced Life Support competency current or attained on employment.  

What we offer:  

Total remuneration value of up to $458,562 p.a. is comprised of: 

  • A salary rate between $182,106 - $251,527 p.a.   
  • 12.75% super
  • 17.5% leave loading
