The urgent care clinic, running alongside our GP clinic, has become busy to the extent that we now need a 2nd UCC doctor on many days.
The Urgent Care Clinic operates on a 'walk-in' basis treating patients who have acute medical problems on the day. It is not routine healthcare for chronic conditions, medicals, health assessments or other routine GP work.
You work exactly the same as you would as a GP, except that you are just treating patients in a waiting queue, and just for ailments like UTI's, rashes, lacerations, fractures, gastro, respiratory issues, and any other acute but non-life threatening issue.
Patients are triaged on arrival and allocated to the rostered UCC doctor if they meet the criteria.
