The Northern Territory Placement Support Grants offer an incredible opportunity for registrars to gain hands-on experience in rural and remote medicine in 2024. With these incentivised placements, registrars will encounter diverse clinical scenarios and be exposed to a range of medical cases that can significantly contribute to thier professional growth while making a real impact where it's needed most.
Who's eligible to apply?
- Interstate Registrars: Transfer to the Northern Territory for at least 6 months and receive up to $10,000. In addition, if you choose to do your 6-month placement in an MMM6-7 location, you can earn an additional $5,000 (up to $15,000 in total).
- Northern Territory Registrars: Move from MMM2 to MMM6-7 locations for a 6-month placement and receive $5,000. Extend your placement to 12 months and receive an additional $5,000 (up to $10,000 in total).
- The NT Placement Support Grants are payable in addition to any National Consistent Payments (NCP) and flexible funds that you may be eligible to receive through the AGPT pathways and any grant funding from other sources, including the NT Government and NT Primary Health Network & Rural Workforce Agency NT.

Funding is for 2024.1 placements and grants are limited. Applications will be assessed, and successful applicants will be notified on Friday, 29 September 2023.
