As we move towards 1 February 2023, a sense of anticipation is building with the announcement of new team member appointments. The teams delivering this nationally consistent program are locally known as many are a part of the existing GP training teams. Importantly, they know your communities, your practices and many of you directly. More

Your GP training team
We’ve made a number of key appointments to national and regional GP training teams. All of whom are highly respected general practice training employees from around the country. More
To ensure your placement processes are equitable and efficient, we’ll release a nationally consistent timeline for the 2024 placement process early next year to make sure you have adequate time to consider ongoing training opportunities.
ACRRM and RACGP dual pathway registrars will be supported in collaboration with ACRRM.
You can expect to hear more from your local team in early 2023
Training management system
We’re adopting the training management system GPRime2 to record your training information.
It will be customised to RACGP requirements and we’ll provide resources and local support to help you to learn the system.
The Department of Health has advised that some GP registrars still need to register a PRODA account to receive their training support payments in 2023. Please sign-up if you do not already have one in place.
The training term dates for 2023 have been confirmed as follows:
AGPT Registrar training handbook
Our new online registrar handbook is a ‘one-stop-shop', covering placements, exams, recognition of prior learning and experience, training program, Fellowship requirements and more. Download the handbook
We’ve developed an interactive and informative onboarding module to provide you with the background and requirements of our training program. We recommend that you complete the module before starting your 2023 training year. More
Progressive capability profile of the general practitioner
We’ve developed The Progressive Capability Profile of the General Practitioner to identify the capabilities and competencies you need to meet throughout your vocational training journey. Use it to track your progress on your journey to Fellowship. View the profile
Rural generalist fellowship
The RACGP’s Rural Generalist (RG) Fellowship recognises the extra requirements and skills of rural GPs and supports them to meet the diverse health needs of rural and remote communities. If you are working towards the Fellowship of the RACGP and have a passion for working in rural communities and an interest in extending your skills, you can enrol in the RG Fellowship at any point during your training.
