A new chapter in LMS for GP Training

The RACGP has made the decision to change LMS platforms to ensure all members, GP registrars and supervisors have the best learning experience available. The new gplearning 2023 platform provides easier and more interactive access to hundreds of learning activities designed by GPs for GPs, covering an ever-increasing number of clinical topics.

And as you would expect, this new platform will be continually updated to ensure you are up to date with the latest developments and information.

gplearning 2023 - a resource for registrars

gplearning 2023 is a significant resource for registrars during training and one which you can access at any time during your training to assist with your learning and study plans.  

gplearning 2023 is where you as a GP registrar will find content to supplement the regionally delivered “Out of Practice” education programs. Your regional team will be able to direct you to any specific resources you will need to access at a given point in time.

How to login to gplearning 2023

From the RACGP homepage, go to the “My account” section. Click the new gplearning 2023 platform link and continue to login (note: the former gplearning-transition platform link will be live until June 2023). For more information, refer to our LMS login FAQ's.

Completing course material in gplearning-transition?

If you are completing course material in the former gplearning-transition platform, you have up until 31 March 2023 to complete it. However, all new courses must be completed in the new gplearning 2023 platform from 1 March 2023.

Access to CPD & FAQ's

While registrars do not need to collect CPD points during GP training, having access and working through the content on the gplearning 2023 platform will set you up with the lifelong learning habits, that GPs are known and appreciated for!

Preparing your study plans

With the launch of the new gplearning 2023 platform, now is a great time to review the RACGP curriculum and syllabus and start thinking about your study plans.  

The RACGP curriculum and syllabus reflect the expectations, core values and principles required of an Australian General Practitioner (GP). Further to this, they provide detailed educational outcomes, content, and processes to support your learning.

What's in the curriculum?

The RACGP curriculum and syllabus is composed of 42 units including; seven core units and 35 contextual units. The seven core units include the five domains of general practice, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health unit, and the Rural health unit. The contextual units cover those contextual areas such as dermatology, travel medicine, cardiovascular health, and relate to clinical presentations and patient populations that GPs regularly see. Many of the recommended activities in the syllabus are available to you on gplearning 2023 - for you to work though at your own pace.
