By now, you would have received your individual email from the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), to complete the AGPT National Registrar Survey - this survey is utilised by Australian Government to support the continuous improvement in the training of doctors in the AGPT program.

The survey findings are used by both the Department of Health and GP training colleges to review and improve the administration, education and training and support of registrars.

The 2023 survey asks questions regarding employment models, salary and entitlements and will be open until 18 August 2023.

Expressions of Interest - Be a part of the new RACGP GP in Training wellbeing committee

The RACGP believes that all GP trainees should be well supported professionally and in their personal welfare by the college as they train to achieve their full potential as GPs. And so that they may provide the highest quality of care to their patients. The safety and wellbeing of GPiT is crucially important.

The GP in training (GPiT) wellbeing committee is newly established, with the objective of supporting the safety and wellbeing of GPiT, and we are inviting you to express your interest in becoming a part of it.

Watch out for your personal email invitation to assist in informing priorities of the safety and wellbeing of GPiT and ensuring a focus on issues such as racism, bullying and harassment are part of the conversation.

The committee will be composed of RACGP GPs in training, supervisors and RACGP staff which will (as a whole) represent the depth and breadth of GP training (location, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people, training pathway, ADF).

2024.1 Placements Process

The RACGP believes that high quality, comprehensive general practice placements are the key to success for GP training. To ensure you receive a breadth of exposure to the “curriculum that walks through the door” and a professionally rewarding training experience, you are encouraged to experience a variety of GP practice terms.

To assist in meeting your training needs, and to equitably distribute registrars across Australia in a transparent and flexible manner, the RACGP placement process uses an open market approach facilitated through the Training Management System (TMS), to afford choice for both registrars and practices.

The RACGP placement process is designed to equitably distribute registrars across Australia in a transparent and flexible manner.

Bespoke priority placement support is available where there are identified community, practice, or registrar training needs. Please reach out to your training coordinator if you have any specific training requirements (such as rural generalist skills consolidation or desire to work in an Aboriginal Medical Service).

Monday 16 October – Monday 23 October	Registrars commence applying to practices. Practices commence interviews. no offers can be made during this time
Monday 23 October	Practices commence making offers. Registrar applications and practice interviews continue.
Monday 23 October	Placement Confirmation & Medicare Process
Friday 1 December	Medicare Provider Number Deadline

AMC - Vocational Trainee on Council - Expressions of Interest – 31 July 2023

The Australian Medical Council (AMC) is an independent national standards body for medical education and training whose purpose is to ensure that standards of education, training and assessment of the medical profession promote and protect the health of the Australian Community.

The AMC is seeking expressions of interest for the position of a Member of Council who is at the time of their appointment, or who has recently been, a vocational trainee primarily working in Australia.

The term of the appointment will be four years and commences at the conclusion of the AMC’s Annual General Meeting on 23 November 2023.

To nominate for the position, candidates must complete and return the Expressions of Interest Form along with their CV by 31 July 2023.
