Nominations for the 2023 RACGP Awards are soon to close - and we want your nominations for those GPs, GPs in training, Supervisors, and practices that continually strive to improve health outcomes for all Australians.

Supervisor NCP Payment Preferences - Reminder of closing dates

The NCP payments can be paid either direct to the Practice or to the Supervisor.

• Prior to making any changes, you will need to discuss this with the Practice Manager.
• The practice delegates (frequently the Practice Manager and/or Primary Supervisor) can update preferences for Supervisors for 2023.2 onwards by submitting details in the TMS.
• This does not have to be updated if the Supervisor is happy with their current preference.
• If there is no preference, the default setting will pay to the Practice.

Did you know … Updates to the Therapeutic Guidelines

Therapeutic Guidelines Ltd have updated their freely available antibiotic prescribing in primary care summary table to include alternatives to first-line antibiotics for use in shortage situations.

This information was developed by our Antibiotic Primary Care Expert Group, requested by the Department of Health and Aged Care to provide guidance to help primary care clinicians navigate the current situation of multiple shortages of first-line antibiotics, such as amoxicillin, cefalexin and trimethoprim.

The RACGP continues its commitment to supporting members in their pursuit of clinical excellence and recognises that maintaining a healthy work life balance is essential for GPs.

2024.1 RACGP Fellowship Support Program (formerly PEP) - Applications Now Open

Applications for the 2024.1 RACGP Fellowship Support Program are now open and close 27 July 2023.  

The Fellowship Support Program is a two-year education and training program designed for doctors who are currently working, or about to start working, in a rural general practice setting.

2024 Second intake - Australian General Practice Training Program (AGPT) - applications open 7 August 2023

Applications for the 2024 Australian General Practice Training Program (AGPT) will open from 7-29 August 2023.  

The Australian General Practice Training Program is government funded three-year education and training program for doctors in urban, rural and/or remote locations.
