Final reminder - Medicare Provider Number (MPN) paperwork is due
A reminder for all that registrars are required to submit all Medicare Provider Number (MPN) paperwork by Friday 1 December.
Registrars received their MPN application from the RACGP via email (cc practice manager) once their placement was confirmed. The subject of this email is ‘term papers for signing’.
Steps to be taken:

Registrar completes page 1 of the MPN application.

Registrar shows page 2 of the MPN application to the Practice Manager (for 2024.1 placement), to ensure that all practice details are correct.

Registrar signs and dates form (page 2).

Registrar returns all 3 pages of the MPN paperwork to AGPTApprovedPlacement@racgp.org.au (including paperwork for any additional sites eg VMO, after hours site etc)

It’s important that the paperwork submitted is high quality.
We cannot guarantee that provider number paperwork received after Friday 1 December will have a provider number issued prior to the start of the 2024.1 semester.
Note: Registrars cannot apply for a provider number with billing rights through PRODA.
