Medicare Provider Number due for 2023.2 Placements

Attention: Supervisors who currently have registrars

Medicare Provider Numbers are due by 12th June 2023. Please support your Registrars who are changing placements for Semester 2023.2 in the MPN process, as delays to this process will likely have a negative impact on both Registrar leave and Practice billings.

Education Policy updates

We’ve updated the Fellowship Exams Policy:

We’ve added a clause in the Eligibility Requirements section to allow for more flexibility: Where the AKT or KFP is scheduled up to 31 calendar days prior to the training term end date, we will allow Registrars to sit the examination.
The Suspension of candidacy section now aligns more closely with the AGPT Registrar Training Handbook and covers registrars who enter an approved remediation term.

We’ve updated the AGPT registrar training handbook and clarified a few things in these sections:

Exam eligibility – registrars whose training term end date falls just after the exam date will be allowed to sit the AKT or KFP (as per change to Fellowship Exams policy).
Withdrawing from an exam – registrars on extension who wish to withdraw from an exam must contact their Regional Director of Training so they can receive timely and appropriate advice.
Paediatrics evidence requirements – if two Emergency Department terms are being used towards paediatrics requirements, then only one of these terms can be during PGY1.
Extended Skills Training – clarification around Registrar Liaison Officer terms.
