Welcome to GP Training with the RACGP – Day 1

A huge welcome to all our registrars. Welcome to those of you who are just starting your GP Training journey, and those of you who are transitioning across from one of the 9 Regional Training Organisations around the country.

Rest assured we are ready. We have done the preparation, and we are excited to get going. We know that there will likely be some bumps along the way, but we are confident we will find them early and fix them quickly to ensure your training journey is as smooth as possible. The RACGP team are excited to continue to build a nationally consistent, regionally managed, and locally delivered Australian GP Training program, together with you. We are here to support you, so reach out to your dedicated training coordinator with any enquiries.

Orientation workshops

At the beginning of your first training term in general practice there’ll be an orientation workshop in your local region where you’ll meet your training coordinator, ME, other local RACGP team members and other registrars, and learn more about the AGPT program. Participating in the orientation workshop is part of your out-of-practice training program.  

 This session is critical to your training and is compulsory. We will let you know when your regional orientation workshop is scheduled, and any other details you need to be aware of, prior to the session.

Training Management System

Many of you will be familiar with the Training Management System (TMS) traditionally used in your training region, however as part of the transition to college led training nationally all participants in the RACGP training program will use the same TMS. To help you get started with the TMS, access these guides and training videos.

eTG and Training Management System (TMS) Access

RACGP Registrars will have access to the electronic Therapeutic Guidelines (eTG) via the TMS from their date of commencement with the RACGP. You will receive your TMS login details via email on this date, the date you commence training with the RACGP.

Entering your Medicare Provider Number in your Trainee Portfolio ( RACGP-TMS)

You will need to enter your Medicare Provider Number (MPN) into the TMS to ensure that you are paid your registrar's support payments. A quick link to assist you with this process can be found here.

gplearning - RACGP Learning Management System (LMS) Access

gplearning provides general practice education and is free to RACGP members with current member log in. All educational activity is evidence based, peer reviewed and developed ‘by GPs for GPs’ to support high-quality, comprehensive and coordinated healthcare to individuals and the community. 

 Available 24 / 7 – 365 days / year, gplearning is:
