Explore an academic career as part of your GP training journey
Applications for a fully funded academic post in 2025 are open from 6 May to 15 July.
The AGPT Academic Post Program allows you to develop research, teaching, project management and critical evaluation skills during a 12-month, part time training term. During an academic post registrars partner with a university to teach medical students and develop a research project in an area of general practice that interests them, while receiving mentoring and support from medical educators, university supervisors and the RACGP.
If you’re interested in learning more about the program, register for the academic registrar showcase webinar. During this session past program participants will showcase their research and engage in an audience Q&A. You can also visit our website for more information on the application process.
