Dr Nespolon says the awards acknowledge the important role GPs play in Australia’s healthcare.

‘I would like to extend my congratulations to all the GPs recognised this year. Each of these doctors represents the best of Australian healthcare and the awards are an acknowledgement of their tireless efforts to support our communities.’

RACGP President Dr Harry Nespolon is referring to the GPs announced in the Queen’s Birthday 2020 Honours List.

‘Our current climate has placed GPs further in the spotlight, and I commend them for the vital role they play at the frontline of the pandemic,’ Dr Nespolon said.

‘Now more than ever, GPs endeavour to achieve positive outcomes – for both physical and mental health – across the entire patient population, including for their colleagues.

‘The RACGP is proud of the achievements of every GP honoured and of the credit they bring to themselves and the profession.’
