RACGP Foundation
The RACGP Foundation’s annual grants round is now open, with more than $700,000 in funding available thanks to the support of RACGP members and the Foundation’s partners.

The grants recognise the critical role of general practice research in addressing current gaps in evidence and knowledge to inform and improve practice, policy and patient outcomes.

Applications for the majority of grants close in early May, and those seeking more information can email foundation@racgp.org.au or call 03 8699 0335.

Stronger Medicare Awards
Last week, the Federal Government launched the Stronger Medicare Awards to honour those who have made a significant contribution to Australia’s primary care sector.

The awards recognise Australia’s Medicare ‘champions’ – outstanding individuals and practices that provide exceptional care, embrace innovation, and work together to improve the health of their communities.

Eligible nominees include individual health professionals, practices or health centres, as well as multidisciplinary teams working across the full range of primary care services.

Nominations and assessment criteria will open at 10.00 am (AEDT) Friday 8 March and close on 30 June, with the awards to be presented at a ceremony in Canberra in October.

Visit the Department of Health and Aged Care website for more information.
