Members can vote on key matters and engage with the Board at the upcoming meeting, with GP voices helping to shape the college’s future.

The 2024 AGM will see the RACGP Presidency officially handed over from Dr Nicole Higgins to Dr Michael Wright.

Members are encouraged to make their voices heard at the upcoming RACGP Annual General Meeting (AGM), with voting now open.

The college’s 67th AGM will be held on 21 November at the GP24 conference in Perth, with a Zoom livestream also available for those who cannot attend in person.

In 2024, members are asked to vote on two Ordinary Resolutions: directors’ remuneration for financial year 2025–26, and the President’s remuneration.

This year, the meeting will also see the RACGP Presidency officially handed over from Dr Nicole Higgins to Dr Michael Wright.

RACGP Board Chair Dr Lara Roeske encouraged all members to cast their vote, telling newsGP that the results will shape how the college operates moving forward.

‘The AGM is an opportunity for members to vote on important resolutions the college is proposing, and it is their chance to have a say on what direction they want the RACGP to be heading in,’ she said.

‘The Board values your input and recognises that the college’s members provide an essential voice to inform how we operate.

‘I encourage all members to have their say and make their voice heard.’

The directors’ remuneration resolution will recommend an increase in RACGP directors’ fees after an independent review was undertaken in August 2024.

The Board’s fees recommendation takes into consideration that ‘the RACGP attracts and retains directors that can dedicate the time and bring the diverse experience and skills needed to oversee the RACGP’s operations in a high compliance environment’.

The second resolution for the President’s renumeration recommends a 4.4% increase.

The Board says this recommendation takes into consideration the ‘complexity of issues and expertise, accountability and time commitment required of the presidential role, to drive advocacy activity and engagement with the RACGP’s stakeholders’.

Both resolutions require 50% of voters to be in favour to pass.

Voting for the AGM is now open, with eligible voting members to receive an email from the RACGP Returning Officers from the BigPulse voting platform with their unique voting link.

Eligible members can cast their votes online prior to or during the AGM.

The AGM will be held on Thursday 21 November 2024 from 4.00 pm (AWST), or 7.00 pm (AEDT), at the GP24 conference, Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

All members must register their attendance, with registration for those attending in-person or online, as well as more information, available on the RACGP website.
