The RACGP is encouraging members interested in the development of standards and associated resources to nominate for the expert committee.

Female GP with patient
Members of the college’s expert committee help to ensure the standards reflect safe and quality practice.

This week’s round-up also includes a newly released toolkit for GPs to be prepared for the summer season, upcoming changes to the Poisons Standard, and a women’s health event.

RACGP Expert Committee – Standards for General Practices EOI
The RACGP is seeking member nominations for a position that has become available on the RACGP Expert Committee – Standards for General Practices (REC–SGP).

The REC–SGP contributes expertise in specific areas related to the Standards for general practices and other associated projects. The committee also contributes to RACGP position statements, submissions, guidelines, resources and tools aimed at supporting the profession.

Further details about the REC–SGP and the application form are available on the RACGP website, or by emailing standards@racgp.org.au. Expressions of interest are due by 5.00 pm (AEDT), Friday 23 December.

RACGP Summer Planning Toolkit
The college has recently launched the Summer Planning Toolkit to help general practices consider summer preparedness activities to implement for the health and safety of patients and the practice team.

Following the Winter Planning Toolkit, the Summer Planning Toolkit uses a modular structure and is a ‘one-stop-shop’ for the college and other medical organisations. It includes information on summer readiness, including information on emergency preparedness, epidemics and chronic disease, as well as advice on keeping practice staff and patients safe and healthy during summer.

The toolkit identifies the accreditation alignment and requirements within the Standards for general practices (5th edition).

Any questions or feedback about the toolkit can be directed to standards@racgp.org.au
