The Health of the Nation 2019 survey is now open.

Health of the Nation
The 2019 Health of the Nation survey has a particular focus on GP self-care.

The General Practice: Health of the Nation report collates the survey results and examines publically available general practice data and evidence to provide a unique overview of Australian general practice.

The 2019 report, which will be released to members and officially launched in September, will have a particular focus on GP self-care.

‘This year, we are also interested in your health,’ RACGP President Dr Harry Nespolon said of the 2019 survey results.

‘You may be aware that the RACGP has been strongly advocating to remove barriers that discourage health practitioners from seeking healthcare when they need it.

‘So we are interested in knowing if you are comfortable seeking care and whether you have a regular GP.’

Dr Nespolon encourages participation from GPs across the country.

‘It is only with regular and up-to-date insights from our members that the RACGP can effectively represent you and your patients’ interests when advocating to Government and key decision-makers,’ he said.

Since it was first launched in 2017, the General Practice: Health of the Nation report has revealed a broad range of information about modern general practice in Australia.

In addition to providing information at a point in time, the report will track trends, highlighting changes across the profession from patient and GP perspectives.

RACGP Fellows will be sent a unique link to access the survey. The survey will be open until 15 May.
