Responses gathered from the Member Engagement Survey will help the RACGP’s ongoing advocacy for the future of general practice.

The RACGP’s 2023 RACGP Member Engagement Survey is now open until 1 December.

Designed to better inform the college on what members consider most important, how they interact with the college and satisfaction with their membership, the survey data will also guide the operations of the organisation to ensure a robust future for the general practice profession.

‘If you haven’t already completed our Member Engagement Survey, please take 15 minutes to do so,’ RACGP President Dr Nicole Higgins told newsGP.

‘We care about members’ needs and are very keen to hear your views and ideas – which is why we have extended the deadline.

‘We are all busy, but there’s still time to have your say to help guide the future of your college.’

The RACGP is made up of more than 40,000 members, including Fellows, GPs in training, and those working in urban, rural and remote settings. Among these are international medical graduates, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members, and all genders.

Dr Higgins said the information gathered from the Member Engagement Survey will also help to provide more insight into the unique needs of the college’s varied membership.

‘We are proud of the diverse experiences and skills of members, and this survey should give us a better understanding of how the college can meet individual needs,’ she said.

‘Your input will help us understand more about you, your work, your interactions with the RACGP and your overall satisfaction with your membership.’

Advocating for general practice has been a priority ask from members, and much of the RACGP’s ongoing push for general practice reform and strengthening Medicare was addressed in the 2023–24 Federal Budget. This year’s survey will again contribute to shaping the direction of the college’s advocacy strategies and policies.

The 2023 Member Engagement Survey is open until 11.59 pm (AEDT) Friday 1 December.

Members dont need to complete the survey in one hit, progress can be saved along the way if more time is needed. Any questions can be directed to racgp@racgp.org.au or 1800 472 247.
