After hours GP - Joondalup Health Campus

Experienced GPs wanted — innovative new GP After Hours service at Joondalup Health Campus. Dedicated GP space, access to ED-speed results, capped patient load, nurse/ AIN support. $300/hr (contractor)

GP Position | Contract | Joondalup, WA Page viewed: times Posted: 2/06/2026

Joondalup Health Campus has launched an innovative new state funded GP After Hours service and we are looking for experienced GPs to join us.

Location

You will work in your own dedicated GP consulting room / treatment room at Joondalup Health Campus — separate from the ED but close enough to have full support should you need it. Patients are able to present directly to the after hours GP to support them in avoiding unnecessary presentions to the ED.

Patient Mix

Patients present directly requesting the AHGP service and are reviewed by ED triage for safety before you see them, so patients should be appropriate for community level GP care.

What makes this role different?

You have access to ED-speed pathology and radiology — results back during your shift, not days later. If a patient needs escalation, the ED team is available to collaborate and shared software means seamless handover with no duplication. Dedicated clerk, nurse / assistant support to support you.

Patient numbers are capped to ensure only patients that you can see wait for the service — this is not a volume-driven model. Patient numbers matched to the work rate of the indivual GP.

The rate

$300 per hour, (contractor / fixed hourly rate)

Paid orientation time prior to commencing

 Hours

Currently 6pm–10pm with a flexible roster. We are accepting applications for ad hoc or regular shifts - several per week or even once a fortnight depending on your commitments.  We are actively looking at how the service grows and GPs joining now will have a genuine say in how that happens.

Suitable for

Experienced community GPs - both those with urgent care or after-hours backgrounds and also those with adequate community GP experience .

Interested or want to know more?

We are happy discuss the role further.
